Abstract
Pogledom na tržište operacijskih sustava uzeli smo najzastupljenije operacijske sustave i istražili njihove performanse na stolnom i prijenosnom računalu. Nit vodilja usporedbe ta dva različita računala je bila u tome što ljudi u velikoj mjeri putuju zbog raznih razloga te im je potreban stabilan sustav koji može bez problema obavljati njihove svakodnevne obaveze na računalu. Htjeli smo vidjeti u kolikoj mjeri prijenosno računalo zaostaje u odnosu na mnogo snažnije stolno računalo. Koristeći razne testne alate dobili smo rezultate mjerenja performansi koje smo onda mogli detaljnije analizirati i uspoređivati. Na oba računala instalirali smo iste sustave i došli smo do zaključka da nevezano za performanse određenih komponenti najbolje rezultate ostvaruje Windows 7, a to možemo pripisati činjenici da je najduže na tržištu te su sve greške ispravljene i možemo reći da je to najkompletniji sustav.
Abstract (english)
By looking at the operating systems market we took the most reputable ones and explored their capabilities on desktop and laptop computers. The reason for comparison between these two computers was that people travel to a large extent for a variety of reasons and need a stable system that can smoothly perform their daily tasks on the computer. The goal of this paper was to research how much does notebook computers lagging behind a much more powerful desktops. By using various benchmark tools we have conducted experiments and measurments in order to get performance results that we can analyse. On both computers we have installed three different versions of Windows operating systems, namely Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. We came to the conclusion that the performance of certain components is best achieved by running Windows 7. This can be concluded to the fact that it is the longest on the market and all the errors are corrected and we can say that this is the most complete system.
