Abstract
Tema ovog rada je usporedba relacijskih i nerelacijskih baza podataka te su u radu temeljito objašnjeni osnovni pojmovi vezani uz baze podataka, vrste i načine rada baza podataka. Baze podataka imaju važnu ulogu u organizaciji i općenito aktivnom te efikasnom rukovođenju. One predstavljaju elektronička skladišta podataka koji se nalaze na mediju za masovnu pohranu te su organizirani kako bi se podaci mogli što lakše pronaći i zadovoljiti postavljene kriterije. Postoji nekoliko modela baza podataka, a za potrebe ovog rada detaljno su opisani relacijski i nerelacijski model. Relacijske baze podataka koje prikazuju podatke pomoću relacija ili odnosa su bile osnova za izradu aplikacija drugi niz godina no s vremenom se javila potreba za modernijim pristupom pohrani podataka. Nerelacijske baze podataka, s druge strane obuhvaćaju skup različitih vrsta tehnologija nerelacijskih baza podataka koji su razvijeni na temelju zahtjeva tržišta. U praktičnom dijelu rada je prikazano ispitivanje performansi predstavnika relacijskih i nerelacijskih baza podataka u operacijskom sustavu Windows te grafički prikaz dobivenih rezultata.
Abstract (english)
Subject of this paper is a comparison of relational and non- relational databases, so acordingly paper explaines basic concepts related to databases, forms and performanses of databases. Databases play an important role in the organization and generally in active and effective management. Databases represent electronic storage of data stored on the media for mass data storage and they are organized in order to facilitate finding data and meet the set of criteria. There are several models of databases and for the purpose of this study are are described relational and non-relational workstation model. Relational databases that display data using the relations were the basis for the development of applications for many years but eventually has developed a need for a more modern approach to data storage. Nonrelational databases, on the other hand comprise a collection of different types of non- relational database technologies which have been developed based on market demands. The practical part of the paper represents the performance testing of relational and nonrelational database in operating system Windows and graphical display of the results.
