Abstract
U ovom radu su opisana dva različita tipa metoda procjene kvalitete komprimirane slike: objektivne i subjektivne. Prikazano je subjektivno ocjenjivanje kvalitete slike pod različitim vrstama i stupnjevima kompresije. Od različitih istraživačkih timova i sveučilišta je preuzeto nekoliko baza komprimiranih slika zajedno s njihovim subjektivnim ocjenama, od kojih su najvažnije MOS i DMOS, srednja ocjena i srednja razlika ocjene kvalitete slike. Za dvije baze podataka je izračunata objektivna PSNR metrika, koja predstavlja maksimalnu vrijednost odnosa signala i šuma. Izvršena je usporedba subjektivnih MOS i objektivnih PSNR rezultata. Subjektivna ocjena kvalitete se radi uz pomoć ljudskih promatrača i time je dugotrajna, skupocjena i većinom neupotrebljiva u svakodnevnom komprimiranju slike, ali je ujedno i pouzdanija od objektivne procjene kvalitete, koja se radi računalno. Računalna kompresija slike je većinom neizbježna zbog nužne uštede na vremenu i memorijskom prostoru, stoga je važno što više unaprijediti računalnu obradu koja radi s objektivnom procjenom. Analiziranje subjektivnih ocjena metoda kompresije nam ovdje pomaže u približavanju računalnih rezultata ljudskim potrebama.
Abstract (english)
In this paper, two different types of compressed image quality assessment methods are described: subjective and objective. Subjective image quality assessment with several different types and degrees of compression is shown. From different universities and research teams, several compressed image databases were downloaded, along with their subjective assessment results, the most important of which are MOS and DMOS, Mean Opinion Score and Differential Mean Opinion Score respectively. For two databases, the PSNR quality metric (Peak signal-tonoise ratio) was calculated. Subjective image quality assessment is done with human observers, and therefore it's expensive, it takes a long time, and it's mostly inapplicable in day-to-day image compression, but it's also more reliable than the objective quality assessment, which is done by using computers. Image compression is unavoidable because of time and memory constraints, therefore it's important to advance the digital processing that's done with the help of objective quality assessment. Analyzing the subjective grading on different types of compression helps us bring software results closer to fulfilling human criteria
