Abstract
Otkrićem Stroop efekta, fenomena koji otkriva kako mozak procesuira informacije, počeli su se razvijati različiti Stroop testovi. Stroop testovi koriste se za mjerenje brzine procesuiranja riječi, ispitanikove selektivne pažnje, paralelnosti kao i za procjenu ukupnih izvršenih vještina i sposobnosti obrade informacija. Cilj je ovoga diplomskoga rada napraviti web i mobilnu aplikaciju u razvojnom okviru Flutter koja će se temeljiti na dvojezičnom utjecaju jezika u Stroop testu. Aplikacija je izrađena za potrebe provođenja eksperimenta iz dvaju dijelova - u jednom se dijelu istraživao utjecaj hrvatskog kao materinjeg jezika, dok se u drugom istraživao utjecaj engleskog kao stranog jezika. Istraživanje je provedeno kao primarno i opisno, koristeći komparativne i statističke metode za analizu podataka. Aplikacija je testirana na populaciji studenata FERIT-a, a dobrovoljno je sudjelovalo 128 studenata. Aplikacijom se analizirala brzina i točnost odgovora na materinjem i stranom jeziku. Analizom rezultata može se zaključiti da je točnost odgovora na hrvatskom nešto viša u usporedbi s engleskim jezikom, ali nije statistički značajna (p = ,6458). Usporedba prosječnog trajanja odgovora pokazuje da su odgovori na engleskom jeziku kraći nego na hrvatskom, što podupire postavljenu hipotezu da će na stranom jeziku trajanje odgovora biti brže nego na materinjem jeziku.
Abstract (english)
Since the discovery of the Stroop effect, a phenomenon that illuminates how brains process information, different types of Stroop tests have been developed. Stroop tests are utilized to measure processing speed, selective attention capacity, parallelism, and overall cognitive executive processing skills and information processing abilities. This master's thesis aims to investigate the bilingual impact on the Stroop test using a newly developed web and mobile application based on the Flutter framework. The application is divided into two parts: one focuses on the impact of Croatian as a native language and the other on the impact of English as a foreign language. The research was conducted as primary and descriptive using comparative and statistical methods for data analysis. The application was tested on a population of 128 FERIT students who voluntarily participated in the research. The speed and accuracy of their responses in both languages were analyzed. The results indicated that the accuracy of responses in Croatian was slightly higher than in English; however, the difference is not statistically significant (p = ,6458). The average response time was shorter for English answers compared to the Croatian ones, which supports the hypothesis that response times in a foreign language are faster than in the native language.
