Abstract	Zadatak ovog diplomskog rada bio je opisati modeliranje i učinkovitosti serijsko-paralelnih FACTS uređaja. Uz opis samog rada uređaja dana je i primjena UPFC-a na elektroenergetski sustav Hrvatske sa analizom djelovanja. U počenom djelu rada teoretski je razrađena učinkovitost, problematika jalove snage te kompenzacija pomoču raznih FACTS uređaja. Navedeni su prednosti i nedostaci ove tehnologije te način primjene na realnim sustavima. Načini modeliranja, poznavanje kontrole parametara vodova pružene ovom tehnologijom ključ su u budučim primjene FACTS tehnologije. Kao relativno nova tehnologija očekuje sve veću primjenu i utecaj na stabilnost prijenosnih sustava diljem svijeta
Abstract (english)	The task of this graduate thesis was to describe the modeling and effectiveness of serial-parallel FACTS devices. In addition to the description of the unit itself, the UPFC has been applied to the Croatian Power System with an analysis of the operation. In the beginning of the work, theoretically the efficiency, the problem of reactive power and the compensation of the various FACTS devices are elaborated. The advantages and disadvantages of this technology and the way in which systems are applied are listed. Modeling methods, knowing the control of the cable parameters provided by this technology are key in the future application of FACTS technology. As a relatively new technology, it is expecting a growing application and impact on the stability of transmission systems around the world.
