Abstract
Cilj ovog rada je prikazati načine na koje različite tehnologije za proizvodnju električne energije iz obnovljivih izvora mogu negativno utjecati na okoliš te usporediti te izvore s konvencionalnim izvorima energije. U radu su detaljno opisane negativne strane solarne energije, energije vjetra, hidroenergije, geotermalne energije i biomase. Usporedba obnovljivih i neobnovljivih izvora obuhvaća količinu emisija CO₂ koje oni ispuštaju tijekom cijelog životnog ciklusa, njihov utjecaj na okoliš i ljudsko zdravlje te njihove zahtjeve za zemljištem i materijalima, poput ruda. Na kraju su provedeni proračuni koji prikazuju razlike u troškovima povezanim s emisijama CO₂ ekvivalenata između obnovljivih i neobnovljivih izvora električne energije po megavat-satu proizvedene energije tijekom cijelog njihovog životnog ciklusa.
Abstract (english)
The aim of this paper is to analyze the environmental impacts of various renewable energy production technologies and compare them with conventional energy sources. The negative aspects of solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, geothermal energy, and biomass are thoroughly examined. The comparison between renewable and non-renewable sources includes an assessment of CO₂ emissions throughout their life cycle, their environmental and human health impacts, as well as their land and material (ore) requirements. Finally, calculations are presented to demonstrate the differences in costs associated with CO₂ equivalent emissions between renewable and non-renewable energy sources, measured per megawatt-hour of energy produced throughout their life cycle.
