Abstract
Polimerni materijali ispunjavaju svijet oko nas. Od sredine 20. stoljeća neizostavan su dio čovjekova života i djelatnosti. U ovom se radu daje uvid u povijesni razvoj polimera te u njihova svojstva i prednosti nad drugim materijalima. Opisana je molekularna struktura polimera te njihovi mehanizmi vodljivosti. Navedene su i raščlanjene glavne polimerne grupe sa naglaskom na njihovu primjenu u elektroindustriji. Na nekoliko primjera je detaljnije opisano korištenje polimera u elektrotehničkim uređajima te zadaća koju u njima obnašaju.
Abstract (english)
Polymeric materials make up the world around us. From the middle of the 20th century polymeric materials have been a constituent part of humanity's everyday life and business. This paper explains the historical development of polymeric materials as well as their advantages compared to other materials It explains the molecular structure of polymers and their mechanisms of conductivity. Polymeric groups have been given and analyzed, with emphasis on their application in the electric industry. Usage of polymers in electrical engineering devices and the function which they serve have been thoroughly explained on a couple of exaples
