The subject matter of this thesis is the power generation comparison of photovoltaic power stations. Measurements were taken at the PV power station in Osijek, possessing a photovoltaic array strength of 64.24kWp, and comprised of 252 panels. The power station is divided into 3 groups, which are called supplemental power stations East, West and South in later segments of this thesis. Using the PVGIS software tool, an analysis of the existing power station was conducted and compared to the actual power generation acquired from measurements. Furthermore, by using the information provided by PVGIS, an attempt was made to dimension the power station, that has a better power generation than the existing power station. The optimal angle for photovoltaic panels in Croatia is 34 degrees, along with the orientation of the power station towards South. By using this type of power station model, whit a peak power corresponding to that of the actual power station, a greater power generation was achieved. However, taking the factor of coercion and shading into account, the actual power generation was not satisfactory. This leads to the construction of a new power plant using AutoCAD software tools, considering the maximal and minimal incidence angle of sunlight. The object, dimensioned at 60 x 10 m, and with a complete reduction of the shading coefficient, fits 195 PV panels. The observation that the 256Wp panels and the 265Wp panels are sold at the same price supported the decision to select those of a higher peak power and by doing so compensate for the lack of panels. The new power station did not generate more power on a yearly basis, but an economic analysis showed that the new power station has a shorter repayment term and is therefore more cost effective.
